The Silver Thistle was established in 1997 and purchased by its present owners, Geri and Lamar Cecil, in 2004. Since its inception, it has been located in the Boonsboro Shopping Center at 4925 Boonsboro Road in Lynchburg, Virginia. The Silver Thistle deals in virtually everything necessary to creating a beautiful, inviting home.

The store carries a wide range of accessories, specializing in lamps and shades, tables and serving pieces for dining, linens, mirrors and an eclectic selection of fine china, pottery, silver and crystal. We also display unusual gifts, including some suitable for men or babies, and wrap them with such distinction that receiving a package from the Silver Thistle is an occasion in itself. All of this is available through our Bridal and Gift Registry. We also carry several lines of high quality upholstered furniture which can be ordered in a variety of fabrics.

A notable specialty of the Silver Thistle is its antiques department. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil, themselves experienced collectors, are regular attendees at auctions along the East coast and offer a wonderful assortment of antique furniture, porcelain, silver, and old Oriental rugs. The Silver Thistle also offers its customers a handsome collection of paintings, some old, some contemporary, by European and American artists. We are happy to search for objects our customers desire.
