Wendt and Kuehn was the brain child of Grete Wendt, who, in 1915, founded her own woodworking studios in the heart of Germany, in the small mountain village of Grunhainichen. For more than 90 years, the workshops of Wendt and Kuehn have been a bustling cradle of heavenly little angels, adorable Blossom Kinder and colorful droves of charming wooden figures cherished the world over. The expert woodturners, gluers, sanders and painters still produce all the figures by hand, fully continuing the graceful tradition so prevalent in Grete's time.

 Our beautiful glass ornaments are crafted by hand using traditional, old-world methods. Molten glass is carefully mouth-blown into finely carved molds. Then a hot solution of liquid silver is poured inside. The ornaments are hand-painted and glittered in a series of labor-intensive steps to achieve the beautiful finished creations. Produced in limited quantities and imported exclusively by the Merck Family's Old World Christmas, each is a treasure to cherish.
