The nativity Scene belongs to the few groups of figurines that Grete Wendt designed before she founded Wendt and Kuhn. Her design in 1910/11 was way ahead of its time with its straight lines and minimalist style. Mary and Joseph are shown in simple colors; the Christ child lies snugly in a crib, wrapped in cloth. An angel proclaiming the miracle completes the offering for this year. Yet to come are the shepherds, the richly decorated Wise Men, the stable, sheep and palm trees which will complete the scene, surrounded by a multitude of angels.
